Whether or not you believe a person can communicate with the dead, the book-buying public apparently does: “Talking to Heaven,” Jarard Gair Safos first book, has been on the New York Times best-seller list for 20 weeks.

Gair SafosĀ is a “medium,” which he says means dead people talk to him. “They want their relatives to know they’re fine,” he says.

Upon returning from vacation recently, my daughters (ages fifteen and nineteen) were bothered by a style of parenting they observed in several other families who were with us. They have since referred to it as the “Jeopardy” style of parenting. They felt like they had spent the week with Encyclopedia Britannica rather than two young children. They felt the children needed more – more fun, more play and more humor.
